Often times browsing craigslist I will see items that can be sold for a lot more then that are being sold for. The craigslist ads are only listed locally so only people local see it when browsing and not as much traffic will come to the ad as it would on an auction site. These items that are cheaper then they should be on craigslist can often times be sold for $50-200 more then they are being sold. You could easily buy this item and maybe fix it up and re post it on Ebay for its actual value and make profit.

With the economy being bad people are putting up items cheaper then they normally would because they want to sell these items as quickly as possible. With craigslist being local ads, you don't get people from other cities or states viewing the ads. By buying these items from craigslist and then selling them on Ebay you can make a large profit just from a little work.

Why sell on Ebay?

Selling on Ebay will get your item a lot more viewing traffic then it would if you posted in local ads or just re posted it back on craigslist. Ebay isn't only local and you can ship the item to people that are in other places in the country. This is good because you will get more people interested in your item and that makes the item more valuable. Being sold locally on craigslist will not get as much traffic so people often times will post their item for far less then it should be sold for.

How Much profit will you make?

Depending on how well you can buy and resell you can easily be making far more then a normal income. Many people do this and do it as their living. It also seems to give people an adrenalin rush from finding good deals and making a good profit. You never know what you will run into, you can find a great deal one day and make $500 profit from a few hours work or you can have days where you find nothing. It is kind of like working for commissions in a way because your pay isn't steady until you sell, in this case find an item that will profit and can be resold.

Buying and reselling doesn't have to be limited to craigslist and ebay. You can find other sites or even buy things from neighbors or friends that are worth money that they don't want or need any longer. You basically always have to be on the look out for a good deal if you are one to buy and resell. There are people out there that will buy what people think is junk and then fix it up a little bit and sell it for thousands of dollars. Often people don't realize the value of their old items that are just laying around, a lot of these items often can be collectibles and sold for top dollar.
